My little owls have been working their tails off when learning new things! In math, we have been doing a lot of hands-on centers. Students are able to work with manipulatives and play fun games to learn the concept of subtraction. This past week, we have begun to work on 3D shapes. We also celebrated Earth Day in April. We read the Lorax, talked about the 3 R's: recycle, reduce and reuse and wrote about what we would do if we had the last truffula seeds. Students could easily relate to the story of the Lorax. They even went home and planted trees! We have been keeping up with our buddies weekly. One week we work on reading and another week we work on math (this week was mini bowling with subtraction!). We finished up our study of the Earth this week. Students were able to explore rocks, pebbles, sand and soil. We also talked about air and planting plants. Also, our ABC countdown has begun! You will see pictures of students with their stuffed animals, blowing bubbles and I didn't get a chance to snap a picture of their crazy hair, but we had some crazy hair!! Enjoy the pictures below.
